Songwriting

Whether you favor pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, country, or all, we’ll show you how to write songs that really get attention. In our songwriting class, you will learn how to structure songs, create “hooks,” develop lyrics, craft melody, merge words with music, and write in various genres. We will explore various writing techniques, brain storming and creative writing exercises. This class fosters freedom of expression, creativity, and positive collaboration.

Music Lessons

We are offering instruction on guitar, piano, and drums. All levels of skill and experience are welcome, from complete beginning to advanced. This class will help build a solid foundation from which you can learn any style. The basics of writing and playing music will be taught to you at camp. Advanced musicians will be challenged in instruction too. Campers will get a chance to hone their newly developed skills in our private practice periods.

Vocal Training

In our voice class, students will learn all about most unique instrument of all, the human voice. Building on a foundation and understanding of the voice process, students will focus on maximizing their voice, increasing range, and caring for the voice. Anyone wishing to improve the singing and sound quality of their voice will experience exciting changes that will complement any singing style.

Recording

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when your favorite recording artist goes into the studio to record their next album? Experience it first-hand at Camp Rising Star.

This will include the recording of the campers own original songs.The main activity will be to give each camper as much hands-on recording experience as possible. No prior studio experience is necessary, so don’t let that stop you from an experience that could have an impact on your child’s career in music. We will also learn how to track, make overdubs, mix, edit and master your music. Each student will make a demo CD as a final project.
